Mango Panna Cotta

minutesMango Panna Cotta is a smooth and creamy dessert that is easy to make ahead of time, perfect for any occasion. It is an Italian dessert, traditionally made with fresh cream, vanilla extract, gelatin and literally translates to cooked cream. One can add rum to bring the authentic taste of this dessert.
Ingredients
Heavy Cream – 2 ½ cups
Milk – ½ cup
Sugar – ½ cup
Unflavored gelatin powder – 1 envelope
Salt – ¼ tsp.
Vanilla essence – ½ tsp.
- Mango Pulp to set
Mango pulp – 1 ¾ cups
Water – ¼ cup
Unflavored gelatin powder – 1 envelope
Diced Mango – ½ cup
Chocolate grated – 2 tbsps.
Directions
- In a small bowl take1/4 cup of water and heat to lukewarm temperature. Add the 1 envelope of gelatin and mix well.
- In a saucepan, add the mango pulp.
- Stir in the gelatin.
- Stand the glasses in an angle as shown in the picture. Gently pour the mango pulp and place it in an angle. I used the help of small bowls to tilt the glasses to an angle.
- Pour into glasses to a half inch below the rim. Chill in the angled position for at least 2 hours to set.

- Panna Cotta
- In a saucepan, add milk and powdered gelatin and wait 5 minutes.
- Heat the saucepan to low- medium, add sugar and stir for a few minutes to dissolve the sugar.
- Keep the heat at low, add in the cream, vanilla essence, and salt and keep stirring for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Once at room temperature, pour into the glasses enough to cover mango. Chill for 2 hours or until set.
- Chill for 2 hours or until set. Garnish with diced mango and grated chocolate.
- Serve and enjoy the original or mango infused Panna Cotta
Notes
- Vanilla pods or vanilla extract can be used to bring more original flavor.
